Born in 1972, Melanie graduated from the University of South Australia in 1992 with a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. Since then, she has presented her work in more than forty solo and group exhibitions across Australia and abroad, with her paintings now held in both national and international collections.

Renowned for her quirky, lively, and spontaneous interpretation of the world, Melanie draws attention to the small and often overlooked details of everyday life. Her fascination with nature is expressed playfully on canvas, weaving together subtle narratives of curiosity and self-exploration.

Inspired by extensive travels through Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, her practice celebrates simplicity and vitality. Her distinctive mark making and imagery reflect an ongoing exploration of life’s spontaneity and joy.

While trained as a graphic designer and illustrator, Melanie paints passionately in her spare time, balancing her creative pursuits with the rhythms of running a small hobby farm in the Adelaide Hills.
