Adelaide - the Festival City
Adelaide, known as Australia’s ‘festival capital’, is an ideal host for PolArt 2025. Renowned for world-class events like Adelaide Fringe, WOMADelaide, and OzAsia, the city offers a vibrant cultural atmosphere that celebrates diversity. In 2023, Adelaide welcomed 3.4 million overnight visitors, with 58% from interstate, reflecting its national appeal (Tourism SA).
With its affordability compared to other major Australian cities, Adelaide offers a budget-friendly experience, including diverse accommodation options and top-tier dining. The city's welcoming community and thriving arts scene ensure that PolArt 2025 will be an unforgettable experience for visitors from across Australia and beyond.
Adelaide’s compact layout makes it easy to explore and beyond the city, visitors can enjoy day trips to the globally acclaimed Barossa Valley, as well as the McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills wine regions. The Clare Valley, just 1.5 hours from Adelaide, is particularly significant as the site of the first Polish settlement in Australia, with notable historical sites such as the Polish Hill River Church Museum.

PolArt expands into regional South Australia
For the first time in PolArt's history, the festival will extend beyond Adelaide's city centre into regional South Australia. A special folkloric concert in the Barossa Valley (renowned for its vineyards and cultural heritage) will showcase the vibrancy of Polish dance and song in a new setting. This milestone marks a significant step in bringing PolArt's celebration of tradition and artistry to an even wider community.
The folkloric concert, 'Polish Colours in the Valley' will take place at the Barossa Arts Centre on Friday 2 January 2026.
