
Irena was born in Poland, where she qualified in Architecture from Construction Engineering School. In the year 2000, she arrived in Australia.
Her immersive artistic works are based on unpredictable personal survival and a long convalescence after illness. An important moment at this time was her decision to start visual arts. She graduated from ANU Bachelor of Visual Art; Sculpture and Painting in Canberra in 2017, she also completed the Institute of Technology Diploma of Visual Art and Technology Certificate IV of Visual Art in 2014.
She currently lives in Canberra, where she’s involved in a volunteer activity as a member of the Management in White Eagle Club and also, she’s the President Polish Art & Craft Society. She participated in a range of exhibitions in Canberra Art Workshop, Artists Society of Canberra, Queanbeyan Art Society, and PolArt in Brisbane and Sydney.
She belongs to the Queanbeyan Art Society organisation and Canberra Contemporary Art. Her preferred medium is oil, but she also uses acrylic. She is interested in using non-traditional techniques and mixed media creating different textures as collages unconventionally.
