Teatr Prób Miniatura

Teatr Prób Miniatura was founded in 2011 by Polish director Stefan Mrowiński. In 2010, Polish community activist Krystyna Mrozik encouraged him to stage Jerzy Szaniawski's Mother. The success of this production inspired him to establish a Polish amateur theatre.

In its early years, the theatre organised poetry and music events presenting the works of Polish poets, as well as special programs such as The Polish Cenacle of the 20th Century, devoted to contemporary Paschal poetry. These activities won several awards in Polish competitions.

In 2013, the theatre presented a biographical play about Wisława Szymborska, The End and the Beginning, followed by cabaret performances Smile and Smile 2. Later productions included The Road to Independence (2018) and Laughter Through Tears, or What Poles Have Laughed At for the Last 100 Years. More recent works such as The Family First and The Coronavirus Didn’t Defeat Us addressed contemporary themes.

Currently, the group is staging Jan Drda's comedy Playing with the Devil. Following success with Melbourne audiences, it will be performed more widely at this year’s PolArt Festival.

Teatr Prób Miniatura is deeply engaged in the Polish community, with activities including Kabareton performances at Polana Camp, participation in charity events, actor involvement in cultural programs, and visits to seniors.
