My interest in poetry dates back to the early 1980s, when I regularly attended a group of young poets called Pod Drabiną in my hometown of Rzeszów. During that time, I wrote my first poems and experimented with various poetic styles.
In 1986, I migrated to Australia and settled in Sydney, later relocating to Adelaide in 2023, where I currently reside. I have published three collections of poetry: Czas i My (2022), Księga Żywota (2024), and my most recent collection, Sklejka (2025). These works showcase a wide range of poetic styles and devices, enriching the language and heightening the emotional impact of my poetry.
My poems are inspired by everyday life, exploring every aspect of the human experience. They tell deep truths about joy and sorrow, triumph and loss, never shying away from hardship, while also expressing gratitude for all that life offers. Childhood and adolescent memories — rich, vibrant, and emotionally charged — also serve as powerful inspiration, often conveyed through vivid imagery and sensory detail.
My poetry further captures the unique character of Polish village life, evoking serene landscapes with descriptive language that creates a strong sense of place and time. For me, poetry is a means of distilling life into emotionally resonant expression — a way to illuminate both past and future, and to find light even in the darkest shadows, through the universal power of poetic language.
