'Wisła' Brisbane

The 'Wisła' Polish Folkloric Ensemble was founded in 2010 by a group of friends who shared a deep love for Polish dance and culture. Their motto, 'Dancing our way through Poland,' reflects the spirit of friendship and heritage that continues to unite them.

Wisła debuted at the Brisbane Polish Spring Festival in 2011 and performed at its first PolArt in Perth in 2012. Since then, the ensemble has appeared at major festivals and community events across Australia, including the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra, the Polish Festival at Federation Square in Melbourne, and Dożynki in Adelaide.

The group is led by Agnieszka Kowal, a former dancer from Poland, whose artistic direction brings authenticity and passion to every performance.

Wisła is a senior-only ensemble made up of close friends who rehearse, perform, and celebrate Polish culture together. Their repertoire is fun, dynamic, and energetic reflecting both tradition and companionship.

In addition to dance, Wisła incorporates Polish songs into its performances, further celebrating the language and cultural heritage. Through every show, the group aims to share the beauty of Polish folklore and promote cultural diversity in Australia.
