Jan Iwanowski

I am Johnny, a young graffiti writer and painter based in Orihuela Costa, Spain (for now). I was born in Perth, Australia (where I participated in the PolArt 2012 Perth festival), however after a few years my family and I, moved to Gdynia, Poland (my parents' hometown) where my love for spray painting and graffiti began. I have been in the game for around 3 years now and during that time I have developed my style and switched more onto canvas murals and commissions. The most common media seen in my art is, of course, spray paint but I also like to use acrylic paint, gel medium, markers filled with ink or paint and ripped up stickers, advertisement posters and newspaper acting as a background for my pieces. My genuine aim is to make the world a little bit more colourful and happier bit by bit but also leaving my mark as if it was a journey. During my time in Spain, I have participated in different events and art projects such as the Polish church community event in Guardamar (Spain) where I did live spray painting, also in HOUSE TLY GRAFFITI JAM festival in Torrevieja (Spain) to honour the memory of a legendary graffiti writer, I also donated to art gallery charity event in my local city for causes such as the flood victims in the Valencia region. I also executed commissions such as creating the scenography for dance and gymnastic shows. My inspiration is world travelling, my Polish heritage with Australian influence. In my free time I enjoy cooking, hiking and downhill biking.
