In Kolacja na cztery ręce (Dinner for Four Hands), writer Paul Barz imagines a fictional meeting between Johann Sebastian Bach and George Friedrich Händel. The play contrasts their personalities – Händel, famous and wealthy envies Bach's genius, and Bach questions Händel's success. Their dialogue explores missed opportunities, artistic freedom and human vulnerability. The witty servant, Schmidt, adds humour to the philosophical depth.
This thought-provoking performance invites the audience on an intellectual journey, reflecting on what connects people: the longing for freedom, the power of music, and the nostalgia for what might have been.
‘Kolacja na cztery ręce’ Paula Barza to fikcyjne spotkanie dwóch muzycznych gigantów: Jana Sebastiana Bacha i Jerzego Fryderyka Haendla. Sztuka ukazuje ich kontrastujące osobowości, życiowe wybory i podejście do sztuki. Haendel – sławny i bogaty, Bach – skromny, lecz głęboko utalentowany. Dialogi są pełne refleksji nad przemijaniem, sztuką i wolnością. Humorystyczny akcent wnosi postać służącego Schmidta.
Spektakl prowokuje do myślenia o tym, co naprawdę łączy ludzi – miłość do muzyki, tęsknota za spotkaniem i świadomość utraconych szans.
